Q.Root System of a Gardenia

Anonymous added on April 28, 2011 | Answered

My sister wants to plant a gardenia (the low growing one) at the corner of her house but is concerned about the root system and its growing under the foundation of her house. Would the root system be big/wide enough to do any damage to the brick foundation of a house?

Gardenias have shallow root systems and do not pose a great threat to foundation damage or otherwise.
