Q.Roofing Option Hidden Below Mandevilla(Carport)
Hi I need some expert advice please. I have a beautiful Mandevilla that has creeped and covered our carport “roof”(pergola-esque beams resting on brick pillars) and I want to, in some way, make the roof slightly more “waterproof” to keep the car clean. My concerns that I need help with: a. I cannot add weird structures, as it is a complex and certain rules apply b. I would need to be able to in some way maintain the dead flowers, leaves and twigs the Mandevilla throws off What I thought of doing is adding some form of shade netting, but that will fail come point b.? Any advice would be appreciated

Unfortunately, this might be a complex issue that I am not able to offer much assistance on. If it comes down to it, you may need to sacrifice shade, or accessibility.
Otherwise, a different plant that stays evergreen could be an option!
