Robinia Tree Removal

Question

Three years ago I had a robinia tree cut down – since then I have had dozens of shoots/suckers coming up in my lawn and some as far away from the original tree as 30 feet. Could you please tell me how to eradicate the problem. Many thanks

Was the stump removed? If not, you can purchase a stump killer product that you apply to the stump, following all instructions. If you did, some of the roots survived and are still trying to regenerate a tree. Every time you see a new shoot, apply the stump killer or herbicide per instructions. Also, cutting it flush with the ground will eventually weaken it so it stops growing.
