Q.rhododendron

Anonymous added on June 5, 2015 | Answered

I have a an abundant garden that came with my new house. There is a thicket of daisies surrounding and growing up through a rhododendron that has already finished blooming. I’ve heard rhodies like partial shade, so I wonder if this is symbiotic or will the daisies hinder the rhodies growth? Should I thin them away so they are not touching the rhody? I have the same question regarding taller plants surrounding my little azalea bushes. Thanks so much!

As long as they are all thriving, I would not worry too much. That said, if you feel some of the plants need thinning out, simply divide and transplant elsewhere.
