Q.Removing ants
The buds on my rose of Sharon won’t seem to open, the little black ants are eating them. I didn’t notice anything on the leaves. My mom thought at first they were pollinating the flowers and I noticed they were eating away at the unopened buds. I just planted this twig of the rose of Sharon last year and now it finally has its first buds. I don’t want the ants killing it.

It may be that you have aphids, which will attract ants with their excretions. Here's an article that should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/rose-of-sharon/rose-of-sharon-problems.htm
