Has not grown much in 2 years but I do not know what kind of fertilizer to use.

Check on the moisture situation and soil quality, then consider fertilizer. You can use any balanced fertilizer, meaning 3 equal numbers (e.g. 6-6-6 or 10-10-10) Use a liquid and mix with water for a potted plant, or an outdoor granulated fertilizer for outdoor plant.
