I am starting to collect rainwater for my plants, especially the Gardenias. I would like advice on how do you store rainwater and in what types of containers? What is the length of time it can be kept for plant watering?

I would look into rain barrels. Rain barrels can be attached to downspouts and will collect rainwater that would normally run into the yard. Your local extension office or garden center should be able to help with this.
