Rat tail cactus

I bought some rat tail cactus seeds online and planted them about three weeks ago, and this is what they look like tonight. Do you know how the process takes place and when this turns into a rattail cactus?

My research does not find any information on specific seed germination information.
It would suggest that it is very difficult to grow from seed.

The preferred method of propagation is through cuttings.
