Zone Boynton, Oklahoma | Anonymous added on June 20, 2017 | Answered

I live in NE Oklahoma , more specifically west of Muskogee , I have a barrel cacti in a pot that I move out doors in the spring . Could it stand to be planted out doors permanently ? And if it needs winter protection what type should it be ?

Your Cactus can only survive brief periods to freezing temperatures and is hardy to zones 6.

You are in zone 7a , so your cactus should be ok year round for winter. If the weather is particularly cold, you may want to add some protection with a garden blanket.
