Q.Pruning My Outdoor Hibiscus

Anonymous added on August 26, 2011 | Answered

I bought four generic hibiscus (yellow flower) plants from Home Depot. They were about 10 to 12 inches tall when purchased. I have them planted outside in a lovely flower bed. It gets late afternoon and evening sun. They have grown several feet since May and seem to love the area they are planted in. I was wondering when is a good time to prune them? How far down the branch and how often should I prune the plant? Will pruning the hibiscus make it fuller? Should I cover them with burlap cloth during the winter? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
