Pruning Butterfly Bush

Question

What does a pruned butterfly bush look like? Mine is about 20 feet and against a fence (now Dec. ). Looks terrible–dead flowers. Desired length is about 6-10 feet in summer.

Butterfly bushes will take severe pruning. Some people even cut them back to the ground yearly. The next time you prune, simply prune it to the height and shape you would like.
