Q.Pruning An Apricot Tree.

Zone Oakland, Ca., 94606 | JWest added on September 4, 2023 | Answered

I was late pruning last winter/spring. The tree now looks like a porcupine in full fright mode. What do I do now, and when?

The only thing to do, now, will be to wait another year to trim. This will allow time for larger branches for structure to form. After a year or two you can resume normal pruning.
