Q.Protective Netting For Vegetables
Something (pigeons?) was nibbling on my young chard, kale and romanesco crops so I put up netting with fairly large holes (ie keeps birds out but not insects) and that has solved the problem. Now the plants are mature can I remove it? Do the birds just like young leaves? It’s a hassle to get in and harvest the chard and kale each night and also to weed so I’d like to take it off but am worried there will be nothing left by morning!!

They may start picking again, but there is always the option of removing the netting to harvest and replacing it after.
