Q.Protecting Crepe Myrtle

Anonymous added on September 2, 2011 | Answered

I have a crepe myrtle on Cape Cod. It is quite large and heavy with flowers. Is there anything I can do to protect it from impending hurricane weather?

Unfortunately, there is little you can do but wait it out. Most people jump the gun and begin pruning trees with the hopes that this will lessen damage. In fact, this may make them more susceptible to injury, weakening the remaining limbs. Hopefully, Mother Nature will show some mercy.
