Problem With Magnolia

Question

This has flowered beautifully for several years but last year only had flowers on lower branches and a few upper ones with a gap in the middle. Thought just a blip but same this year. Can I do anything to remedy please?

I suspect that the soil has become too alkaline for the tree, or it is in need of fertilizer/compost. You can test your soil with these articles:
