Q.Problem With Japanese Maple

I’ve discovered what appears to be sawdust on my Japanese Maple plus evidence of tunneling through bark. I’ve attached a photo that indicates what I’m talking about. Any ideas on how I could treat this?

Uh oh, it looks like borers. They can damage entire limbs or even kill the whole tree. They are hard to manage because they are inside the tree. Here is more:
