potted hydrangeas

Question

For some reason I can’t grow hydrangeas in pots. I have one now that has been blooming beautifully but new growth leaves are yellow with green veins and then die. Another younger plant has never bloomed but has done the same and is nearly dead. I keep them gently moist, gave them some fertilizer, and even some Epsom salts when I saw the yellowing leaves. but nothing has availed. what in the world am I doing wrong. I have lost several hydrangeas this way. Help! Karen
