Q.Ponytail Palms

Zone Midwest | TheGardeningFrog added on March 30, 2016 | Answered

I’m looking to make a beach terrarium and would like to include a Ponytail Palm. Would it be alright to plant the palm in just sand instead of a sand/peat moss mix?

Though a Ponytail Palm needs a well draining sandy soil, sand alone would not hold up or sustain a Ponytail Palm.
The soil mix need some amount of organic or loamy mix with sand.
