Can my new ponytail palm be able to survive ok in New Smyrna Beach Florida if planted outside? I am prepared to let it mature enough for this. What is mature enough for this area? Yes, it is fine to leave your ponytail palm outdoors in your zone (9b). These plants are hardy in zone 9-12, so yours should do well without any special care.
