Q.Pony tail plants

Zone Spring, Texas | Anonymous added on April 29, 2019 | Answered

I have a 45 year double trunk pony tail. Unfortunately I think the top got a bit wind chilled this winter. The tops of both trunks are brown and no new leaves….but at the base they are both producing pups. Can I cut off the dead mushy tops completely….or leave the tops alone. How can you tell if the whole thing is alive or slowly dieing. Thank you for any help remedy. Layne
