Solarization

Question

I live in Arkansas. This is the first year I’ve had a garden. I’m learning new tricks as I go. My question is. . . Next year, I will be placing my garden in a different location and making it larger. Is there anything I might need to do to prepare the area that I will have for my garden? Right now, it is mowed grass. I have heard of solarization and wondered if this would be a wise thing to do, and if so, how?
