Q.plum tree disease

Anonymous added on July 23, 2015 | Answered

In the past few months, I have seen big thick black tar like pieces forming on the branches of my plum trees. It is killing the branches. It looks like a growth and it is spreading all over the branches from tree to tree. It is uneven and bumpy in texture. What can I do?

i had this problem with my plum tree , it started as you say then spread to the branch , which i cut off from the trunk , i seemed to have caught it in time as the tree didnt develope any more of the black sticky mess and the plums developed beautiful , it just made my tree a bit lop sided . hope this helps
