Q.Plum tree

Anonymous added on June 5, 2015 | Answered

We have recently planted a plum (about 3 ft when planted). It has developed yellowing leaves in the last few weeks. It is in sunshine though, about half a metre forward of an 8 ft (roughly) beech hedge. Can you suggest reasons and what we should do?

Since the tree is newly planted, I would suspect that it may be a little on the dry side and may be suffering from a bit of shock as well. Newly planted trees require lots of water while they establish their roots. These articles should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/tgen/watering-newly-planted-tree.htm
