Plants Are Dying

I have gone online and researched how to care for plants. Now after three years, they are beginning to die. What can I do to help them?

You want to consider several things actually. Water is important for the plants. Too much and the roots choke and the plant dies. Too little and the root system dies thus so does the upper part. Keeping soils moist is good for most plants except cactus types which prefer a watering and then drier soils to sandy very well drained soils. Feeding the plants the right fertilizer and the right amount is extremely important. Too much fertilizer burns the roots and kills the plant. Too little and it will not have much impact at all. If the soils have become hard, work them up a little bit and mix in some compost to help keep it loose. If in a container, perhaps things have become root bound and the plants need to be re-planted into larger containers. There is also the pH level of the soils to consider. If it has become out of balance, then the plants cannot take up the needed nutrients in the soils no matter if they are there or not. Look up the proper pH level for the plants you have and check the pH. Change it up if need be. Too much or too little sunlight can also cause plants to either thrive or start to die along with clogged leaf pores from dusty foliage. Look up the sunlight needs of your plants.
