Planting shrubs and bushes

Question

I purchased several scrubs and bushes at the end of season garden sale. Should they be planted right away and if not, how long can they stay in their pots if watered properly.

This may depend on your current weather conditions. If you are in a heat wave, it may be beneficial to wait.
Though spring and autumn are good times to plant out most shrubs and trees, you can plant out anytime.
