Planting Purple Grass In Container

Could you tell me how big of a container a purple grass needs in order to spread? I live in zone 6

Is this purple fountain grass? The container needs to easily hold the rootball and add a few inches. You don't want to go too wide or the excess wet soil could cause root rot.
