I am a beginner vegetable gardener and want to start small, in pots: Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Romaine, Bell Peppers, Chives. What should my soil profiles look like for each?

If you're just wanting to start them, small pots of damp seed starting soil, damp potting soil or in moistened peat pellets will work just fine for all of these veggies.
