I live in Toronto, Ontario Canada. I need information about planting seeds in shade and when?

Your seed packet should show when to plant if you have one. Planting times would be the same for sun or shade. I used the U.S. general conversion of planting zones to come up with zone 4, which I have information. You don't say what you are growing but these articles should help:
