planting distance between female and male kiwi plants?

Question

Female is established under tree limbs along a fence at the edge of 8 ft drop down- root is coming out of a rock wall – leave and plant male how far from it? or cut female out or start over with a section off of the female? and plant somewhere else? we are 2nd owner of estate. no pruning of the wild hazelnut tree for ? years. branches are all the way over the female kiwi and there has been no fruit on it since we moved here 2014. Any other suggestions are welcome. I bought a 3ft 5 gallon male last week assuming the female needs help. This is my first kiwi.
