Q.Planting Caladium Bulbs

Anonymous added on June 8, 2011 | Answered

I live in the deep south, Louisiana. I need to know when is the best time to plant caladium bulbs? Is it better to buy the plants now? It is extremly hot here right now; today it was 97 degrees, with a 102 heat index. . . muggy hot. Also, do I have to dig them up in the fall?

While you could plant them now, due to the excessive heat, you would have to water them at least twice a day. In your zone, it may not be necessary to dig them up.
