Q.Persistent weed
I have a persistent weed that despite using tools to take it out from between the paving stones and using weedkiller, comes back after a month or so. Can you identify what weed it is and recommend how to get rid of it? Is there a recommended weedkiller that is stronger than the usual well known brands? It’s starting to appear at the edge of the grass and we are worried it will start killing it off.
Many thanks

I believe what you are dealing with is a liverwort. It is a non-vascular plant like moss. They like areas that are very moist, damp and humid. They also like areas where fertilizer is regularly applied, esp nitrogen run off from lawns. We have is around our plant berms at the garden center where I work, it thrives on the run off from our irrigation system and plant fertilizers.
