Q.Peaches Are Dropping Off the Tree Before They Get Ripe

Anonymous added on June 14, 2011 | Answered

The peach tree drops all of the peaches before they ripen or are ready to be picked. They are hard as a rock and we never get to keep any for eating. Also, the squirels get to them first. Do you know what the problem can be and how to get at least a few peaches to eat from the tree?

This is normally caused by either a watering issue or a fertilizer issue. I would recommend phosphorus heavy fertilizer. This will help with fruiting. As for fruit dropping, this article should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/peach/peach-tree-fruit-drop.htm

To deter squirrels, this article may help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/animals/get-rid-squirrels.htm
