Q.peach tree leaves turning

donmoss added on July 20, 2012 | Answered

I have a 10 ft tall peach tree that is about 2 years old. I live in southeast Texas, and we have been having a very wet summer. In addition, I have an automatic sprinkler system that waters for 20 minutes 4 times a week. My peach tree leaves seem to be turning brown very early (mid July). Is this normal or should I be worried?

It may need more water. While you water often, it may not be penetrating the soil deep enough. Try watering for a longer period of time rather than more frequently to allow the water to get deeper in the soil and reach more of the deeper roots. This will allow the tree to take up more water.
