Q.Paw Paw Problem
We live in Townsville Nth Qld. Something has attacked our Paw Paw causing the trunk to be deformed. New growth is now fine. Would like to know what would have caused this and how to avoid in the future.

It looks like an insect tunneled inside. I did extensive research and could not find the cause of this deformity. I suggest reaching out to an arborist to find out what would cause such a thing.
