Q.over crowded container garden

Anonymous added on June 28, 2015 | Answered

My garden has grown to be very crowded. The broccoli was planted too close and now the plant is huge. Can I safely remove some of the plants and replant them in another area? I also need to move tomato plants. Thanks.

Transplanting larger plants during the growing season is difficult, especially with vegetables. While you can attempt this, there is no guarantee that those you move will make it. However, once moved, they should be given lots of water, especially in containers.
