Q.Outdoor Yucca

Anonymous added on April 13, 2011 | Answered

My yucca plants have grown very large and are crowding out other plants in my garden. I want to know if I can prune them back, and if so, how do I do this? I have in the pastĀ pruned someĀ of the older bottom leaves off one of the plants and it has blossomed quite lovely, but now I am not sure if that is exactly the right thing to do.

Yuccas typically do not need to be pruned. But if you have overgrown or overcrowding, you can trim them in spring. It will not harm the plant. This article will help as well: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/yucca/yucca-plants-care-and-pruning-tips-for-pruning-a-yucca.htm
