monkey grass turns yellow, then brown, then dies

Question

We have planted monkey grass twice and half of it dies. We have it along the walkway to the wedding site by the lake. The walkway looks unkempt because of the many open spaces on both sides of the walkway. How often should I water and how much? It’s very frustrating! I’m always re-planting new monkey grass. Some of the monkey grass looks great, but then there are many dead spots.
