Q.wisteria suddenly developed yellow leaves

Zone NJ - zone 6 | PetCrazed added on June 21, 2014 | Answered

Our healthy wisteria suddenly developed yellow leaves and seems to be dying – what could cause this? We have a wisteria inherited from a friend about 5 years ago. It hasn’t bloomed since the transplant, but has been vigorous and lush. It started yellowing and dropping its leaves out of the blue, unless an application of general purpose fertilizer could have caused the damage. Any ideas about cause or remediation are welcome.

The answer probably lies somewhere in this article: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/wisteria/wisteria-blooming-problems.htm
Tip: check the drainage especially, wisteria don't like it wet. Also is there a possibility of herbicide drift?
