Oregon Sugar Pod Snow Pea

Question

How do I know exactly when to harvest the snow pea? They just grew within the last week, but don’t know how large they need to be before harvesting? Also, some of the pods have some peas in them, but how big do the peas or pods need to be when picking them? I tasted one raw and tasted a string in it. Do I need to remove a string? I am new at gardening, especially snow peas.
