Noticed Recently Like Black/brown Stick Like Things Sticking Out Of My Grass

When I pull these out some are empty, but some have like dark grub thing in them. What are they?

Unfortunately, your photos did not come through. Without them, it will be difficult to know what it is. My guess is the larval stage of a beetle or other insect.
