Q.Newly Planted Daylily Bulbs Winter Care

Zone 66215 | Kathy Olsen added on November 6, 2023 | Answered

I just planted 7 new Day Lily bulbs. I am not sure how I need to care for them come wintertime. I live in Zone 6 Lenexa, Kansas. At some time, should I cover them?

These hardy, and often over-prolific, flowers are quite hardy in your area. There won't be much that you will need to do. You can choose to cover them with a thin layer of mulch. Cover just a couple of inches. Outside of that, there isn't much that you need to do for winter.
