Q.New Planting; Droopy Leaves Moisture Meter Reads Wet. Weather Is Hot And Humid. How Much Should I Be Watering?
Professional landscaper planted 7 abelia. 3 inches of mulch. first day .45 inches rain. I watered after that when the leaves seemed droopy. Weather has been hot and humid. My moisture meter reads “wet” It’s been 3 days since I watered. Is it possible I’ve over watered? If so, will that kill the plants?

Overwatering can kill plants so water when the soil starts to dry. When you water, water the shrubs deeply and slowly. A couple times a week to start, then taper to once. If it rains, you may not need to water.
