Q.Neighbor and Roundup
How can I stop the damage at my fence line? My neighbor loves Roundup. A weed wacker would do nicely, but no, this dude just sprays the fence line a few times a summer. Last year was our first year here at our new house. He destroyed about 2 feet of grass along the inside border of our fence where our yard borders his. We have a privacy wood fence that is ours that borders the properties. He should be able to do as he chooses on his side of the fence but this is affecting our side too. We have kids. We have a garden. . . all along that fence line.
Will watering that area as soon as he sprays dilute it enough to make both us happy? Do we hammer in tin border at the bottom of our fence? He refuses to stop using the spray, and we’ve tried talking to him already.

Watering will help reduce the damage, but it will not eliminate it entirely. The border on the bottom of the fence would also help. You may also want to ask him if he can create a spray shield that would better direct the chemical to only his side. This blogger has an example of a homemade shield, and maybe you can come up with a similar one:
