Q.My Wisteria Has Not Flowered This Year
I winter pruned it in February, but my March I had a lot of whispy growth. It did not flower this year and in early May I cut back the whispy growth and added phostrogen in case there was too much nitrogen in the soil. Now in June I have even more of the whispy growth, which makes the plant look really unkempt and untidy. What should I do now?

They really don't need to be fertilized as they typically have vigorous growth already. Too much nitrogen is the No. 1 reason they don't bloom. And Phostrogen added more nitrogen to the soil.
Cut back the wispy shoots to five or six leaves in July or August (according to RHS gardening). Then don't prune again till January or February.
