Q.jade plant falling over

Zone 5 | hsmurphy@umich.edu added on October 17, 2015 | Answered

My very large jade plant is outside in the summer and brought inside in the fall. It then falls over. It is perfect outside, nicely balanced, but 1-3 days after coming inside, all the branches are falling over one another to one side. Leaves are plump and I water once a week. What is happening?

Your plant may have limp branches due to overwatering.

Your plant likely doesn't need as much water now that it is indoors. Don't water on a schedule, check the soil. It should dry out between waterings. The Jade plant actually needs a dormancy period. It will use less water.
