Q.My Tomato Seeds Haven’t Grown.

Zone Somerset UKZ | cathy_brcly added on May 9, 2020 | Answered

I put the seeds in last Sunday. Nothing! I used a multi purpose compost which said it can be used for seeds. I’ve never grown anything so I don’t know what I am doing!

A week is still a very short time period for germination. I would wait just a little longer. If nothing happens in the next 2 weeks, then replant.

Next time, make sure the soil is only slightly moist, and remains that way. Soil that is too wet, such as in the photos, will cause lack of germination. the same can be said for dry soil, though they germinate better in dry soil than in wet soil.
