You can prune off the leafless stems and it will encourage more fullness. You are on the edge of hardiness so take extra precautions before winter, such as mulching well. If you have it in a southern exposure, that will help, too.

If you have not fertilized this spring, go ahead and give it a general fertilizer like 10-10-10 according to package directions. Sunshine likes moist soil, so water when rainfall is absent.
