Q.My Sedums Are Indeed Top Heavy & Falling Over! Can I Wrap Around The Entire Plant?

They were planted about 8 yrs. ago… still beautiful throughout the growing season. Too late for adding sand to the soil?

I have a similar problem with one potted specimen of mine and I: try not to over-fertilize (just once in Spring if planted in the ground and if your soil is not deficient in nutrients); do not overwater; use stakes several inches away from the base; cut the sedum back to half of its height (or 6-8 inches) in early/mid summer, or use pinching to promote more bushy growth. If a plant is too large, try diving the sedum into two smaller plants.
