Q.My Red Remembrance Bush Rose
My Red Remembrance rose is in a half barrel container with a depth of 6 inches or more and a 12-inch diameter pot. It’s in compost and only flowered once. Should it bloom in November? It only has few leaves and long stem. When or does it need replanting?
Your rose is a floribunda type that blooms best in the late summer and early autumn. A beautiful red ^-^ I think you need a bigger container, since this rose will grow up from 1' to 5'. The lack of leaves suggests it's just not got enough room to grow a more extensive root system, hence few leaves are being produced. The leaves are what helps "feed" your rose. The compost is excellent, however, consider adding some good quality potting soil as well. If you are only using compost that may too rich a diet for it to do well.
You didn't mention it's age, but roses like any other perennial need at least 3 years to get established before you start to get abundant bloom. You can replant a rose bush any time. Just make sure you water it well after transplanting to help it recover from transplant shock. This article may be of additional help:
