Q.My Property Borders A Creek. Phragmites Have Taken Over The Creek’s Edge And Killed Off About 60 Feet Of Juniper Hedge. I Can’t

herbicide, due to proximity of the water, so we chainsawed them last fall. Should I just keep cutting them down to the ground? May be rototill? I know that there is no method that will effectively eradicate them. What can I plant that they can’t overrun?

Uh oh. This is a, fairly, aggressive issue that you face. This one may be more suited for your local agricultural extension service- They will be able to help you with a management routine that will not enter the water supply.
